Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Aims

Sustainable Management Review (SMR) aims to advance both theory and practice in sustainable management and sustainability governance across disciplines. The journal publishes rigorous, peer-reviewed research that addresses real-world sustainability challenges faced by organizations, institutions, and communities, and that informs decision-making for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. SMR particularly encourages contributions grounded in humanities and social sciences perspectives, and it also welcomes sustainability-related research from STEM fields to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and integrated solutions that support long-term development while safeguarding environmental integrity, social wellbeing, and ethical responsibility.

Scope

The journal’s coverage includes but is not restricted to:

  • Economics, public finance, and green finance

  • Management and organization studies, including strategy, governance, and CSR/ESG management

  • Marketing, consumer behavior, and responsible innovation

  • Accounting, auditing, and sustainability reporting

  • Human resource management, labor studies, and decent work

  • Public administration, public policy, and institutional reform

  • Sociology, social welfare, and community development

  • Law and regulation related to sustainability governance

  • Education for sustainable development, curriculum innovation, and educational management

  • Culture, media, and communication for sustainability

  • Arts, design, and creative industries in sustainable development

  • Tourism, hospitality, and cultural heritage sustainability

  • Urban and regional studies, planning, and sustainable development practice

  • Sustainability-related research in STEM fields

 

SMR aims to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by disseminating evidence-based insights and actionable approaches that help translate sustainability commitments into meaningful progress across sectors and regions.
